Youth Decide, 14-21st Sept 09

Care about the future of the world? Want to help decide what it will be? *Youth Decide ‘09 is Australia’s first national youth vote on Australia’s climate future*.

The United Nations climate change negotiations this December are the world’s best chance to reach agreement on a strong global treaty to reduce greenhouse pollution. You have the chance to put pressure on our Government to let them know our generation wants strong action on climate change.

  • Voting week is 14th – 21st September. *During this week, you can vote for what kind of world you want to live in – in person at a voting event on campus, or online.
  • Hundreds of Youth Decide voting events are taking place this week, all over the country. This week at University of Melbourne there will be Youth Decide voting stations around campus and a voting event with food, music and fun for all on Thursday 17th September from 12-2pm at Concrete Lawn, Union House. Join us to cast your vote for the world you want to inherit.
  • Youth Decide is organised by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and World Vision Australia. After voting week, the results will go directly to our politicians, to the United Nations climate week in New York, and with a delegation of 20 youth to the Copenhagen climate change negotiations.
  • Climate change is getting worse, and our political leaders are failing to act – but our generation can change this. No one can do everything – but everyone can do something. Vote in Youth Decide between September 14th -21st to decide the future of the world.
