Exam timetables
Your exam timetable is accessed via the Admin Tab in your Student Portal. Remember, it is your responsibility to know when and where your exam is, and to turn up on time! Please note the following information you may find useful.
Exam clash
- Extension Program students are expected to attend their University exam at the published time, unless they encounter a clash with a VCE exam. If you discover that you have an exam clash you must contact the Extension Program office immediately so we can organise an alternative exam time.
Special consideration
- If a situation outside your control is affecting your studies or prevents you from sitting an exam, you should apply for special consideration.
- You are strongly advised to attend your examinations unless you are physically incapable of doing so. Missing an examination does not automatically entitle you to a ’special’ exam.
- You will need to submit an application for Special consideration online through the University Student Information System (SIS).
- Your online application must be submitted no later than 3 days after your exam.
Past exam papers
- Past exam papers are available from the library.
- You can see the past exam papers online, on microform or in print. Electronic versions (PDF) can be downloaded from the Library’s Exam Papers website.
What can I take to exams?
- You must take your Student Card to all exams and place it on your desk.
- You are allowed to take the following items into the exam room:
- writing instruments (pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, etc.)
- mathematical instruments (stencils to draw shapes, protractors, etc.)
- a bottle of water in a clear bottle
- Unless otherwise authorised, you should not take any of the following items into the exam room:
- calculators
- bags
- pencil cases
- loose notes or paper
- textbooks or course notes
- diaries
- personal organisers
- laptop computers
- audio equipment
- coffee or any type of energy drinks
- any food
If you have a medical condition, you need to contact Disability Liaison Unit to discuss arrangements for a condition, or bring a letter from a doctor for a temporary condition.
The University prohibits the use of mobile telephones and other wireless electronic devices inside all examination venues. Electronic detectors have been installed in the toilets and surrounding areas of the Royal Exhibition Building. Disciplinary action will be taken against anyone breaching this rule. Mobile phones may be brought in but must be switched off prior to entering the exam room and left underneath your desk at all times. They are not to be used as clocks during exams and must not be taken into the toilets.
If calculators are permitted they must not to be used during reading time.
If you have an open-book exam, your lecturer will have indicated what materials are permitted for use during the exam. These instructions will also appear on the heading of the exam paper. Large textbooks must be kept under your desk or chair when not in use.
At the beginning of each exam you will be warned about unauthorised materials. You will be given the opportunity to surrender any unauthorised material in your possession without penalty.
