For 2010 entry, students have two different options to study Media and Communications at the University of Melbourne. They can choose to:

  • undertake the Bachelor of Arts with a  major in Media and Communications. This new major out of 39 disciplines within the New Generation Bachelor of Arts will allow students to specialise in Media and Communications while gaining a broad education in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Students will benefit from having opportunities to learn about the media in a global context while gaining transferable skills across many career paths, such as writing, communication and research skills. These courses provide students with great career outcomes in media and communications and further study opportunities. Students who wish to pursue further studies or change a career direction into media and communications after completing their undergraduate study may be interested in Masters courses offered by the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences such as Master of Publishing and Communications; Master of Global Media Communications; or the Master of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing.
