Comments policy

Anyone is welcome to comment on this blog — you don’t need to be a student or staff member of the University of Melbourne. We welcome candour, passion and challenging ideas that are relevant to the work of the Information Futures Commission.

(University staff wishing to comment about the operations or management of the Information Services division should use the feedback form on the InsideIS intranet site.)

On this weblog we use Akismet software to detect spam comments.

All non-spam comments are held for moderation by one of the Information Futures Commission project team members. We try to approve comments within a few hours; on weekends it can take a bit longer.

In general, the moderators are guided by the legal and ethical standards that apply to other University activities.

If the moderators reject a comment on this blog, we will attempt to contact the author, explain why we made that decision and try to reach a solution that all parties can accept.

Comments submitted with an invalid email address will not be published on this blog.

Other ways for you to contribute

As well as commenting on this blog, there are several other ways for you to participate in the Information Futures Commission:

  • Read the Consultation Paper and submit a written response to the questions or topics that most interest you
  • Attend the Information Futures Forums, listen to the guest speakers and participate in the Q&A
  • Attend student-staff forums and participate in the Q&A
  • Volunteer for a workshop or focus group
  • Complete the “Outstanding! What would that feel like?” survey
  • Contact the project team directly
