The School of Information Studies at Charles Sturt University, Australia is looking to fill up to five new faculty positions (four tenure-track, one three-year contract). In particular, the School is seeking faculty in the fields of Information Management and in Teacher Librarianship.
The School of Information Studies at Charles Sturt University has over thirty years experience in teaching library and information management by distance education, onshore and offshore, and has a large and increasing enrolment. The School offers postgraduate and undergraduate programs in library and information management, teacher librarianship and information architecture, with an emphasis on flexible learning and, increasingly, online education. The School also operates a successful PhD program.
Following an extensive review of its programs, the School is now aiming to expand its curricula to reflect the critical importance of information and knowledge management across institutions, including those in the corporate sector, and is seeking high calibre academics to play key roles in this exciting period of curriculum and research development.
The appointees will be expected to teach in at least one of the following core areas of information studies: information and knowledge management, information architecture, information organisation, digital libraries, records management, archives, children’s literature, library services for children and young adults; or teacher librarianship.
Successful candidates would normally be required to work on the CSU campus at Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia, although in some instances an arrangement in which they are based off campus in another location within Australia may be negotiable.
