Library Seminar: Bilingual Digital Publishing of Leading Research from China

Until recently, only Chinese-speaking academics could fully engage with Chinese-language research publications. Now, many of these publications are accessible in English through the CNKI China Journal Translation project (JTP). China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) is China’s largest academic digital publishing platform, and includes over 90% of all academic publishing in China. Articles and journals collected in JTP are high-quality publications, carefully selected and recommended by international experts. This new publishing model was launched by CNKI at the annual conference of American Association for Asian Studies (AAS) in March this year. This session will introduce this important bilingual publishing platform to Australia, and will explore its potential effect on research and on academic and cultural communication between Australia and China.

Date & Time: Tuesday 24 May, 2016, 3:00pm.
