Dr I.L. Kapila Jayaratne is a visitor for Centre for Health Policy,Pragrams and Economics

This is a research project to determine the effectiveness of introducing a healthy schoolbag and related behaviour among children of grade 6 in Melbourne metropolitan area. Ergonomically designed bags are given to children with advice on how to use it. Participants will be observed for one academic term on selected determinants of effectiveness of the intervention by comparing with a control group. The research proper will be carried out as a cluster-randomized trial based on results of a pilot study.
