Mr Steve Crowley is a part-time senior lecturer in health economics at the CHPPE. In addition to his university work, Steven runs a consultancy business in health economics providing services to the pharmaceutical and medical device industry both in Australia and overseas.
HTA is increasingly being used, in Australia and international, to inform decisions to government decisions to reimburse new technologies. This presentation will outline some key principles of good HTA processes, structures and technical aspects of the assessment itself. The discussion will be based on the international literature as well as the presenters own experience with HTA in working in both academia and industry in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
