CMH PhD Completion Seminar – 14-Dec-2015: Depression and depression literacy of undergraduates in Sri Lanka

Room 410, Level 4, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Ms Santushi Amarasuriya, PhD candidate, Centre for Mental Health

Although undergraduates show high rates of depression, many do not seek help. Mental health literacy has been shown in previous studies to influence help-seeking. A lack of research in non-western developing countries measuring this “depression literacy” led us to examine a large sample of undergraduates in Sri Lanka.  This presentation will share some key findings of the study and explore their implications.
