CMH PhD Confirmation Seminar – 15-Dec-2015: To what extent do complex health needs and early service contact shape ex-prisoner health service use, health and justice outcomes during community re-entry

Seminar Room 410, Level 4, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Mr Jesse Young, PhD candidate, Centre for Mental Health

Compared to the general population, ex-prisoners experience increased complex health needs such as mental ilness, dual disorders, and intellectual disability, making ex-prisoner health management especially complex. This presentation will discuss study insights on how to best reduce harm, meet the needs of, and reduce recidivism for one of Australia’s most marginalised groups.
