CHE PhD Confirmation 12-Apr-2016: How do demographic and socioeconomic characteristics influence the effect of disability on mental health? An analysis of effect modification and mediation

12:00-1:00pm, Tue 12th April 2016
Seminar Room 302-303, Level 3, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Zoe Aitken: PhD Candidate, Centre for Health Equity

Individuals who acquire a disability experience a large deterioration in their mental health, however, the extent of the deterioration varies greatly.   My thesis aims to form a better understanding of how the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age influence the effect of disability acquisition on mental health, by identifying demographic and socioeconomic factors that modify and mediate the effect of disability acquisition on mental health.
