MSPGH Seminar: 27th Jul 2016 – Community Water Fluoridation: why we continue to support it

12.30-1.30pm, Wed 27th July 2016
Seminar Room 515, Level 5, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Professor Mike Morgan, Chair of Population Oral Health, Melbourne Dental School, The University of Melbourne

While for the most part the studies from which the Community Water Fluoridation (CWF) evidence is drawn are of high calibre and the conclusions drawn from them are irrefutable, science is rarely if ever, perfect. Sometimes the evidence arises from studies which are not, from a scientific perspective, as perfect as would be hoped for. Despite these shortcomings, the evidence identifying the benefits of CWF leading to policies that encourage and maintain fluoridation continues to be relevant today.
