Campaign passes $300 million
The University’s largest-ever philanthropic Campaign, Believe – the Campaign for the University of Melbourne has recently passed an important milestone.
Thanks to the support of more than 16,000 donors from 52 countries across the globe, over $300 million has been raised to advance the University’s teaching and learning, research and engagement aims.
The total figure also encompasses donations generated through the University’s Annual Appeal, which broke its own record this year, passing the $1 million mark in only five months.
There are many examples of extraordinary generosity. Recent gifts to the Campaign include $10 million from leading Australian philanthropist, Greg Poche AO to create the University of Melbourne Poche Centre for Indigenous Health and a $250,000 gift from Campaign Board Member Jason Yeap to the Asia Institute, supporting research into the role of Asian-Australians in the Asian Century.
Funds raised through the Campaign will enable the University to educate the leaders of tomorrow, solve the world’s grand challenges through innovative research endeavours, and enrich communities, both near and far.
