The Faculty of Science is fortunate to have many passionate and committed alumni in Australia and around the world. Thanks to your involvement and support, we continue to build on our long tradition of graduating Australia’s finest scientists. I am proud to be an alumna of this faculty. The core values that I appreciated as a student here remain strong – values of scholarly inquiry and debate, exemplary teaching and research collaboration.

The world today faces complex economic, political and technological problems. We need leaders with the education and experience to solve these problems. You will see from the research snippets in this section that our researchers are making valuable contributions in tackling these issues. And so, too, are our alumni. One such alumna is Rebecca Spindler. Rebecca has played an important role in establishing gene banks for some of the world’s most endangered species. We are proud of the small part we played in nurturing her passion.
