Adding a Twitter feed to your site sidebar
The information in this guide refers to the old theme.
The new theme has a separate documentation site.
Don’t know which theme your site is using?
Embedding a Twitter feed into a sidebar on your site is a relatively straightforward process, but there are few steps involved.
First up, see this post for details on how to get the Twitter embed code, and how to add it as a widget to your site: https://help.edublogs.org/adding-a-twitter-widget-to-your-blogs-sidebar/

Next, because our theme isn’t automatically setup using a sidebar, you need to do some extra configuration.
Add a sidebar to the homepage:
- Go to “Appearance” -> “Customize”
- Then select “Front page” and check “Show sidebar”

Any widgets that have been configured to appear in the sidebar should now appear (including your Twitter feed).

Adding a sidebar to other pages
You can also add sidebars to your other pages, by selecting the appropriate Page Template. Andrew Harris has written about how to do that here: http://blogs.unimelb.edu.au/blog/2015/11/19/widgets-and-sidebars/
