The objective of my research is to identify effective strategies for reducing predator access to recently settled shellfish on restoration substrates in Port Phillip Bay. The study aims to test the effectiveness of video monitoring and the use of artificial structures in minimizing predation impact on shellfish populations, without requiring cages for predator exclusion. This approach will minimize environmental impact and might bring a light to shellfish restoration efforts leading to a promising future in improving the health of the marine ecosystem in the bay.
