Finding data with Research Data Australia

Today’s theme for Love Your Data Week 2017 is “finding the right data”, and we are highlighting Research Data Australia (RDA).

RDA doesn’t store datasets – it is more a data finding aid, as it aggregates metadata records for 131, 628 datasets (and counting), from 106 contributors.

You can search a wide range of subjects, or take a look at the themed collections.

There’s an open data section with featured datasets, and even some “alternative discovery pathways” such as visualisation software and other analysis and reporting tools.

Interestingly, it’s also possible to explore various research grants and projects from some funders who contribute this information, and make it openly available through RDA, including the Australian Research Council, and the National Health and Medical Research Council.
