We are currently looking for volunteers to participate in a 32-week randomised, waitlist controlled feasibility trial*. The aim of the feasibility trial is to assess if the treatment program is practical, acceptable, and in demand for people with DSCATT. We will also explore the therapeutic effects of the treatment program, and if the treatment causes any negative or unwanted side effects.
The trial involves:
Additional details:
- The medical screening appointment and treatment program will be delivered face-to-face at the Austin Hospital in Heidelberg, VIC, or via Telehealth, as you prefer
- Each session of the treatment program will be facilitated by a psychologist in a one-on-one setting (i.e., not in a group with other DSCATT patients)
- Participants who are waitlisted will be encouraged to continue their usual care and treatments. They will be invited to take part in the treatment program approx. 7 months after being randomised into the trial. This will allow the researchers to compare the effects of the treatment program against a group of DSCATT patients who continue their ‘treatment as usual’.
