"No, there is nothin' that can stop us" (Pris)

OOhhhhhhh it’s a little over 24 hours since I arrived back in Melbourne and I’m already having some withdrawal symptoms! That’s right, the MPH Roadtrip was AMAZING!!!

I miss going up to absolute randoms and knowing, just knowing, that you’re going to be awesome friends!

We sang together.

We chanted together.

We danced to GaGa and Pussycat Dolls together…we all got confused in the giant circle about which arm goes out first together!

We moshed together.

We waited in incredibly long lines to the toilets/showers together.

We realised how cold/disgusting the showers were and how wet our towels were together.

We doorknocked together. From this, our hearts were broken together and we felt elated together.

We tried (and failed on some occasions) to stay awake during politicians’ and other important speeches in the Summit together.

We pretended to drink shots every time someone said “amazing” together.

We froze randomly in shopping centres and supermarkets together.

We got kicked out of those places together…

We banked on the power of chewable Vitamin C tablets together…and got sick together.

We relished in the bus heaters together.

We gasped at how long the dinner lines in Canberra were together.

We saw no end to sausage sizzle lunches together.

We hoarded food together.

We rejoiced with every cup of HOT coffee/tea together.

We felt rewarded when school kids embraced our message together.

We ate half the Cadbury fair trade chocolates that were sponsored to us together.

We froze (almost literally. It was -4 degrees in Canberra) in our tents together.

We were inspired by each other. You guys have no idea how utterly touched I was to hear all your stories and your reasons for joining this cause.

We found parental figures in our group leaders together. (You’re a great replacement for my mother, Jez!)

We filled all the outlets and powerboards with phone/iPod chargers together.

We slept on hardwood floors/concrete/bunk beds/bus seats together.

We all looked forward to the next much-needed toilet breaks together.

Let’s admit it, we stank together!

We all agreed that our bus drivers were the real heroes.

We had minor panic attacks every time we needed to look for our bags on the trailers together.

We soaked in sunshine together.

We played giant games of Sardines, Capture the Flag, Murder in the Dark and NINJA DESTRUCTION!!!! together.

We all admired Jess and Raff together.

We passed a motion through Parliament together.

We raised much need awareness to the issues of poverty together.

…there’s SOOOO much more but bottom line: we were amazing together because together, we created change : )

Ps. Jai Ho! – Pussycat Dolls. Oh yeah, you guys wish you could’ve danced this in the giant circle with us. It was LEGENDARY!!!!

Pss. Some inside jokes:

“V WHAAAATTTT????” “V TTHHRRREEEEEEEE!!!!”

“Safety hug?” *throws out the code of conduct* “Oh, what the hey. GROUUUUPPPP HUUUGGGGG!!!!”

“Kekekekekekekekekekekekekekeke” *flails arms wildly whilst running*

“SHANE DIGGIDDY DAWWWWGGG!!!”

“DE-BRIEF!!!”

“So Raff, that friend of yours in Canada, eh?!”

“Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Poverty has got to go!”

“That’s some CRISPY coleslaw!”

“Cowboys!” “Bullseye!” “Yee Haw!!”

“The Wang…tee hee”

…and now, back to uni : (
