We are pleased to announce the first joint online symposium on Media, Text and Travel, to be hosted via Zoom, from Thursday, 16 March 2023, to Friday, 17 March 2023. Experts from both Universities will share their ongoing research, teaching practices and industry experience on digital media discourse, professional media writing, applied language study, and intercultural communication.More broadly, the theme of Media, Text and Travel provides a forum for challenging, advancing, and understanding issues of media consumption and production in national and global settings.

The online symposium invites scholarly discussion and reflection on innovative teaching pedagogies, diverse research approaches and critical theories for analysing media texts, such as advertising, news, travel writing, and social media. The presentations and discussions seek to engage with the fast-changing role of media and media platforms in contemporary forms of public communication.
