Meet Your Peers 2024 S1

The 2024 semester 1 MEM Student Community organised the “Meet Your Peers” event to bring together both new and previous students. On April 23, 2024, at Building 189 on the Parkville Campus, 12 students, university staff, and alumni attended the event. Attendees engaged in lively conversations and networking over lunch to develop connections and friendships among them. Adding a touch of excitement, the committee prepared a Kahoot Quiz about the University of Melbourne and Australia, complete with a prize, to enhance the event’s atmosphere and increase closer bonds among participants.

“Meet Your Peers is the MEM Student Community’s regular event to meet new students with previous students, alumni and course coordinators. Preparing for this event was challenging due to assignment deadlines, but I appreciate that everyone spent their time participating and attending this event. The results created in this activity aligned with expectations; everyone enjoyed the event by having lunch together and playing games. I also want to thank our mentor, Nicholas, and the entire committee, who worked together well to prepare for this event.”

-Suci Ramadhian (MEM student commencing S1 2024, MEM Student Community)

“I had a fantastic time at the “Meet Your Peers” event! Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and it was refreshing to see how eager they were to share their experiences from the MEM program. Chatting with Felix, our course coordinator, and Nicolas, our lecturer, was truly inspiring. They were warm and supportive, making me even more excited about our journey together. I’m looking forward to more events like this and can’t wait to see future collaborations for us!”

-Muhammad Amin Zaim (MEM Student Commencing S1 2024)-

“The ‘Meet Your Peers’ event allowed me to reconnect with my MEM batchmates, meet new students, and network with alumni. As I’m in my final semester, it was also a great opportunity to make the most of my university experience. Even with a busy schedule, attending this event offered a much-needed break and a sense of relief.”
