Works-in-Progress #1

In 2017 we formalised the Narrative Network and held a workshop where we discussed members’ interests and started getting to know each other’s work by presenting works in progress. This first workshop featured three projects, first Tamas Wells who spoke about using narrative theory in research on democracy, using the Burmese democracy movement as a case study.

Our second speaker was Leah Tang, who presented her analysis of the various narratives that are activated in the policy process around the NDIS scheme. Lastly, Signe and Ash gave a presentation on the challenges of conducting a visual narrative analysis of family photos on the platform Instagram, based on our collaborative project ‘Captured and Captioned’ (with Dr Barbara Barbosa Neves).
