ePoster Competition Workshops at Southbank

Researcher Logo 2016Thinking of entering the Researcher@Library Week ePoster Competition? During the first week of August the University of Melbourne Library team are providing a range of workshops at the Southbank campus to help you plan and develop your ePoster, with sessions on video editing, tools for infographics and other visualisations, how to use PowerPoint effectively, sourcing images and videos, and more.

  • Introduction to video editing, Monday 1 August, 12pm-2pm. This intensive workshop will demonstrate how Final Cut Pro can be utilised in the production of your ePoster presentation. Learn the basics of how to import, edit and export your videos. Details and booking here.
  • Using PowerPoint for building digital posters, Monday 1 August, 3.15pm-4.15pm. Come along to a workshop on how best to work with Powerpoint to showcase your research. Please bring your own laptop computer. Details and booking here.
  • Giving credit where it’s due: sourcing images and videos & acknowledging sources, Tuesday 2 August, 11am-12pm. It is important to acknowledge where you find images and videos to avoid committing plagiarism, avoid breaking copyright and to make it easy for people to find your sources. This session will cover how to find images and video that you are able to use for your research and how to correctly attribute these sources. Details and booking here.
  • Infographics for beginners, Tuesday 2 August, 1pm-2pm. Come along to learn about using infographics to help communicate your research. This hands-on workshop will cover the online tools, Canva and Piktochart.​ Details and bookings here.
