Visualise Your Thesis 2022 is here!

It is that time of year again, Visualise Your Thesis at The University of Melbourne has launched!

What is VYT?

By participating in VYT, Graduate Researchers learn a number of key elements involved in producing, publishing, and promoting a research output. The skills learnt whilst creating a 60 second video are directly transferable to their current thesis work as well as any future research outputs they may have such as journal articles, book chapters, datasets, and more.

What will you learn?

You will learn about Author IDs such as ORCiD, effective storytelling, design principles, types of publishing, copyright considerations, referencing and citations, the dissemination of research, the use of repositories, and tracking metrics and alternative metrics.

Who can participate?

The competition is is open to currently enrolled and attending PhD, MPhil or Masters by Research students at the University of Melbourne. The competition is now open with winners being announced in early July. A full timeline is on our website. The winner will then go on to represent the University of Melbourne at the international competition in September. And yes, there is a cash prize for the top three winners from the University!
