Entry is open for the 2024 Reel Impact Prize

The Reel Impact Prize is an initiative that began in 2023 to encourage academic staff to develop succinct and creative research translations that describe and communicate their impact within society to a non-specialist audience.

It’s an opportunity for winning entries to receive $8,000 to collaborate with their choice of professional media storyteller to develop a creative output to disseminate impactful research to general audiences beyond academia.

The Prize this year will close for submissions on 30 September 2024.

Entry is open to all current Academic staff members of the University of Melbourne, and will be accepted from either individual researchers or project teams.

To see examples of how to create your own winning entry, view the 2023 winning entries from Associate Professor Vikram Bhakoo, Dr Alexis Ceecee Britten-Jones and Parker Truong on the Research website or on the Researcher Development Unit website.

And grab your entry template from the Reel Impact 2024 Canvas Community via the LMS Communities Catalogue, which also has the necessary resources and workshop recordings to guide your submission.
