Update to EBSCO Platforms – take action to protect your saved items & alerts

The EBSCO platform is updating to a new user interface on 18 February 2025. EBSCO hosts many of the Library’s e-books and databases that are used across the University.

The new interface will not change how you access databases or full text. It will offer you a range of enhanced search functionality and personalisation features, including how you create folders, save searches and store items.

Migration impact

Saved searches and search alerts will be impacted. The following functions will not be migrated:

  • Saved items in ‘My Custom’ folders
  • Saved searches
  • Search and publication alerts

You will need to take action before 18 February to ensure you do not lose access following the migration.

This update may impact researchers who have used EBSCO databases to undertake a literature or systematic review.

Action required

EBSCO has several short videos guiding users on how to manage your saved searches, items and alerts to ensure they are available in the new interface.

We encourage anyone who uses EBSCO databases to double check their personal EBSCO accounts and undertake this migration task before 18 February 2025.
