Sign up for Researcher@Library 2025 Semester 1 Sessions
The Researcher@Library training program is now live. Sessions for April include:
- Automated Image Processing (Windows) – Wednesday 7 May
- Open Access in 2025 – Wednesday 14 May
- Evidence and Metrics for Research Impact – Wednesday 21 May
- Beyond Traditional Metrics: Finding Alternative Evidence of Impact and Engagement – Wednesday 28 May

EndNote 2025 – Coming soon!
EndNote is a subscription software that can help to organise and manage your references supported by the University of Melbourne.
Don’t pay for an upgrade, the library will provide an update to EndNote users.
Staff will be able to access the upgraded version via the Software Centre early May.
Students will be able to download from Re:Cite when it becomes available – watch this space for further updates

Let’s visualise your data
Are you a researcher in the Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences struggling to effectively communicate your findings, but don’t know where to start? The workshop includes an overview of the Matplotlib visualisation library in Python and an introduction to a workflow for visualisation as part of data analysis and communication. We’ll then work together to recreate a visualisation one step at a time.

Incorporating Publication in your Thesis

This workshop, co-presented with Scholarly Communications, will explore ways to structure and incorporate publications into your thesis.
Topics include:
- How to connect and create flow between your publications and your chapters
- How to establish an overall narrative that develops a consistent argument
- Determining which version of your publication you can include in your thesis

Writing a Paper for Publication

This workshop aims to demystify the process of writing an article for publication. Covering the essential steps, from evaluating journals and choosing the right one for your paper, to the writing of the paper itself. You will learn how to form a strong rationale for the significance and originality of your paper, how to communicate with editors, and how to respond to reviewer comments. This is an interactive workshop with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
