Events from the Library
Library Locations and changes to opening hours
Tuesday 5 November 2024 Melbourne Cup Holiday will be observed for the first time, please be advised this will impact library services and opening hours. Furthermore from Monday, 18 November 2024, library hours will change to outside semester times.
We recommend checking the library locations and opening hours page to plan your visit to one of our branches.
Events beyond the Library
The next and final Digital Skills Meet Up (DSMU) for the year will be held on Monday, 11 November, focusing on Non-traditional research outputs (NTROs) for all disciplines.
We all have them, but what can we do with them? What platforms/systems does the University offer for sharing your works and how do you choose between them? What do other researchers do to find, reach and engage with their audience?
Hopefully, we can answer these questions and more at this informal meet-up open to ALL researchers and research support staff!
Date and time: Monday, 11 November 2024 2PM – 3:30PM
Location: Manhari Room, Level 7 – Melbourne Connect. Make sure you bring a mug to make use of the coffee machines.
Digital Skills Training
Digital Skills Training is running with a number of sessions in November. Find out more an register here
Graduate Research: Literature Review – Repeat Workshop
We recommend signing up for the following support session to enhance your academic skills: Graduate Research: Literature Review – Repeat Workshop. Also don’t forget you can check out this helpful Library Guide on the topic of Literature Reviews anytime.
Date and time: Thursday 7 November, 1:30pm – 3:00pm
This GR workshop is all about writing a great literature review. We will practice thought exercises and writing exercises to get you mapping your scholarly field and situating this engagement with respect to the research question. We will translate this engagement into concrete writing exercises that get words on the page. This is not a seminar but a workshop, meaning we will be writing, thinking and discussing these ideas together.
