Seeking Input on Data Management Plan Templates
In this post, Eleanor Colla (Associate Project Manager, Business Services) and Peter Neish (Program Manager, Stewardship and Open Research) call for input on the review of data management plan (DMP) templates used in the University’s DMP tool.
Data management planning is a fundamental part of research practice and researchers are encouraged to create a data management plan (DMP) early on in any research project. The University of Melbourne provides support and training around data management and the implementation of a new data management planning tool is currently underway.
As part of this, the Library is currently updating the DMP templates used in the University’s DMP tool. The project team are seeking input from researchers, research managers, and graduate researchers regarding DMP templates.
If you would like to share the DMP templates you are using, or discuss what you need out of a DMP, please email Eleanor Colla by close-of-business on Monday 9 February 2026.
University of Melbourne researchers can find out more about the DMP review project on the Research Domain Business Product Groups SharePoint. To find out more about the data management support available through the Library, visit the Digital Stewardship (Research) team.
