MSPGH Seminar: 7th October 2015 – Do Three-Quarter Life Crises really exist? A Case Study from Malawi, the warm heart of Africa

12.30-1.30pm, Wed 7th October 2015
Seminar Room 515, Level 5, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Professor Rob Moodie, Professor of Public Health, School of Public Health & Family Medicine, University of Malawi and Professor of Public Health, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH)

Having been inspired by teaching such a wonderful diversity of students in the MSPGH MPH and in Mozambique, Rob decided to go to Malawi – to teach in their MPH.  He will discuss the health challenges that Malawians face and the learning and teaching challenges faced by students and staff alike where there is far too much to do, with not enough people and resources.  He will also discuss his own challenges of learning new educational and bureaucratic systems, a new language, and a new culture at the three-quarter time in his life.
