Seminar Room 515, Level 5, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton
Ms Bronwyn Pike, former Victorian Minister for housing, aged care, community services, health, education, skills and workforce participation; and a current member of the Telstra Health’s senior leadership team developing the new EHealth business
The digital revolution has changed our lives, the way we shop, bank, book a taxi, work and spend time with our family. It does that because it is easy. Everything is integrated into one device or system, I have a phone, camera, street directory, diary, photo album, my music collection, books etc and they all work seamlessly. Meanwhile my experience in the health system looks very different.
There are an estimated 8000 start-ups around the world developing solutions in digital health and that’s not including the already established traditional technology players. Innovation is thriving and venture capital funding and IPO’s are at record levels with $2B of venture capital funding in the first 6 months of this year. There is certainly no lack of innovation but the missing link remains-integration.
