China is facing an increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) as a result of rapid changes in its society and economy that are changing lifestyles and people’s way of living.

Lifestyle-related NCDs, such as the cardiovascular diseases and diabetes are now very important contributors to China’s burden of disease. This research is focusing on dyslipidemia as a key clinical risk factor for these conditions. This research aims to describe its prevalence, awareness, treatment and control in China by using data from a longitudinal data set called CHARLS.
