Digital Health Forum 10-Apr-2017: Can digital technology really improve the health and wellbeing of the population?
9:15am-5.00pm, Mon 10th April 2017
Yasuko Hiraoka Myer Room (Room 106), Sidney Myer Asia Centre, Swanston Street
Additional Professor Sailesh Mohan, Public Health Foundation of India
Associate Professor Josip Car, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore & Imperial College London, UK
The two key forum aims: (1) To showcase exciting developments in the application of digital technology to improve health outcomes and related research in Australia and more globally; and (2) To highlight key barriers and challenges which currently prevent the widespread application and effective implementation of digital health programs and platforms in Australia and other countries and to explore possible solutions.
These include barriers and challenges such as: a very confusing digital health ecosystem, poor regulation of products and services, poor data linkage, a lack of integration with routine health care delivery, a modest evidence base and a lack of clarity about who is responsible for sustainable delivery and maintenance of platforms and programs.
