Level 4, Room 410, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton

Marcela González Agüero: PhD Candidate, Centre for Health Equity

This dissertation explores how young Chileans with type 1-diabetes strive to construct good lives, both inside and outside hospitals, and how they negotiate the limits of the neoliberal approach to diabetes control. Within the ‘right to health’ framework, I ethnographically trace the complex interactions between youth, family, class, medicine and the state.
