12.30-1.30pm, Wed 31st October 2018
Seminar Room 515, Level 5, 207 Bouverie Street, Carlton
Dr John Clark, Senior Fellow, The King’s Fund and Honorary Associate Professor, Institute of Clinical Leadership, University of Warwick (recently retired)
More patients suffer needless harm (and death) through poor management and leadership than due to clinical incompetence. Insufficient attention has been given by health systems internationally to prepare clinicians for their management and leadership responsibilities. High profile scandals have highlighted the impact on patients, families and communities of ineffective health leadership.
Drawing on good practice internationally the seminar will explore the importance of developing all clinicians to be competent managers and leaders as part of being an effective practitioner.
