Heart for the Earth Festival at Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Bangalore
In July 2023 SWISP Lab joined over 200 school students at Heart for Earth Festival 2023 in Bengaluru with partner, Science Gallery Bengaluru and the amazing team of Carbon mediators who rocked the house with the ‘Let’s get Quizzy’ show. A highlight was Professor Rohini Balakrishnan starting the day with a fascinating keynote ‘Voices of the Earth’, exploring her sonic research that included the sounds of crickets and birds of Bengaluru.
The festival brought together schools from around Bengaluru to meet with start ups, climate and environmental scientists as well as entrepreneurs working in and across sustainable practices for yet to be known futures. We met many innovative people doing the work in Bengaluru and surrounding districts. The VITM hosted the festival as part of its 58th anniversary celebrations and included guest lectures, film presentations, climate storytelling, hands on workshops and more intimate discussions about what we can all do to make an impact and reimagine climate as an opportunity for change in our cities.
