SWISP Lab in New Delhi

The University of Melbourne Global Centre in New Delhi opened in September. So we couldn’t miss this amazing opportunity to be here and co-design four days of climate talks, interactive play, storying, and the fusion of art and science with our research partners Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), a leading policy research institute in India
Socratus Foundation for Collective Wisdom, dedicated to fostering collective wisdom for tackling complex societal issues
Science Gallery Bengaluru, an innovative space where science meets art and design.

The week has been spent with ‘Learning with the Land’ artist-in-resident, Kriti Aggarwal. SWISP met Kriti at Science Gallery Bengaluru.

I am Kriti Aggarwal, I am a visual artist and designer. I think, draw and make meaning through visual communication. My interests as a graphic designer lie in type, publication and documentary filmmaking. My personal practice inculcates sensibility of the immaterial nature of living.

We write this blog, today on day 3. Our 2 busy days have brought together visionary thinkers, artists, and scientists to collectively imagine new, reparative futures that address the planet’s most pressing challenges.

At the heart of this gathering is the idea of pluriversal politics, as championed by renowned anthropologist Arturo Escobar. Escobar emphasizes that building a myriad of world-making stories is crucial to imagining and realizing different possible futures—ones that foster profound social transformations in the face of planetary crises.

This is the moment to ask ourselves: What kinds of futures do we want to see, know, and live in?

Through collaborative art and speculative inquiry, participants will tap into the collective power of creative synergy, exploring visions of sustainable, equitable futures.

Event Highlights:
Climate talks with international experts
Art and science workshops
Collaborative storytelling sessions
Spec
ulative design and inquiry activities

The summit has sparked dialogues and actions aimed at creating a more just, sustainable, and pluralistic future.

The Melbourne Global Centre – Delhi is conveniently located on the 1st floor, Baba Kharak Singh Rd, Next to Hanuman Mandir, Hanuman Road Area, Connaught Place, New Delhi.
