Join SWISP Lab for 4 days of climate talks, play, storying, art and science at The University of Melbourne Global Centre in New Delhi October 22-25, 2024.
The Melbourne Global Centre – Delhi is based at 1st floor, Baba Kharak Singh Rd, Next to Hanuman Mandir, Hanuman Road Area, Connaught Place, New Delhi.
Arturo Escobar contends, that a pluriversal politics is key to crafting a myriad world-making stories telling of different possible futures that could bring about the profound social transformations that are needed to address planetary crises.
What kinds of futures do we want to see, know and live in? To explore this complex and wicked idea we invite you to join us to tap into the power of collaborative art and speculative inquiry and collectively imagine reparative futures at the meeting point of art and science with SWISP Lab friends (CEEW, SGB and Socratus).
Together, our synergy summit or visionary alliance includes – us (SWISP Lab), CEEW – Think Tank & Policy Research Institute in India, Socratus Collective Wisdom Corporation and Science Gallery Bengaluru.

Day 1 (Full day 9.30-5.30pm) Tuesday 22 October, 2024
SWISP lab, CEEW, and Science Gallery Bengaluru are hosting this first full day of climate-focused events at the UoM Global Centre for 40 young people aged 14-28.
The morning session (9:30am-1:30pm) starts with registration, coffee, and introductions from Kate and Sarah (SWISP lab), followed by activities such as sharing climate stories and a CEEW-led session using the “Deal for Climate” card deck to explore challenges and solutions.
In the afternoon (2:00-5:30pm), Kate and Sarah with Jagath from Science Gallery Bengaluru will play Hacking the Anthropocene, in relation to the morning CEEW deal for climate. Educators Kate and Sarah guide young people in testing SWISP’s global climate curriculum and playing the “Hacking the Anthropocene” kit.
Day 2 (Full day) Wednesday 23 October, 2024
SWISP lab, CEEW, Science Gallery Bengaluru and Socratus will host this climate event for 40 high school students and young adults (aged 14-28 years old).
The day begins at 9:30am with registration and coffee, followed by the session “Love in the Times of Climate Change” from 10am-1:30pm, led by CEEW and SWISP Lab.
Lunch is served at 1:30pm.
In the afternoon (2:00-5:30pm), the event continues with Socratus leading us into Climate Recipes.
Socratus Climate Recipes archives and relays lived and tested knowledge as recipes that shift our existing perceptions of adaptability to climate change. Encompassing the wisdom of Indigenous ancestors, environmentalists, activists, foragers, chefs, architects, and artists, it presents practices and cultures that teach us to live with the changing biodiversity.
Day 3 (Full day) Thursday 24 October, 2024
SWISP lab, Science Gallery Bengaluru and Socratus present a full day of events for 25 participants (18-28-year-olds).
The morning session (10am-1pm) focuses on “Hacking the Anthropocene through a Waste Museum,” featuring an in-situ participatory waste exhibition that accommodates 25 participants and explores climate stories through art and science, inviting creative engagement.
Lunch is served at 1:30pm.
In the afternoon, from 2-4pm, 25 attendees can join a “Create Your Own Waste Recipes” workshop to develop innovative waste management solutions. How can exhibitions be used as a site for thinking and deliberative decision making? Can a concept of museums be extended to be used as spaces for collective immersions? Museum-in-a-box facilitates this as an exhibition making tool.

Thursday 24 October, 2024 evening 4.30-6.30 with Socratus
Citizen Jury is a space in which a jury comprised of regular people sit in judgement of policies made for them. This jury is open to 40 participants who will engage with experts as they present their policies to an you the audience of representatives of various people’s groups – as a way of enacting participatory citizenship for reparative climate justice.
Day 4 (half day) Friday 25 October, 2024 10am – 1.30pm
Let’s hack the Anthropocene and uncover the stories hidden between creativity and scientific inquiry.
SWISP Lab X Science Gallery Bengaluru invites you to a 3-hour immersive experience like no other. Engage with educators Kate Coleman, Sarah Healy, and Jagath V. as they guide you through their global climate curriculum.
Come and hack the Anthropocene and reflect on your relationship with art, science, climate change, and interact with other young people to share your hopes and fears about the Anthropogenic event we are living in.
The workshop (with University of Melbourne ethics approved research) is open to 40 participants aged 14-28 years old.
