The Right Ear Advantage (Olle)
Which ear do you use when you pick up a phone?
Your answer: right.
Why?
Because most of the input of the right ear goes to the left hemisphere of the brain.
It’s known as “the right ear advantage.”
Now that’s knowledge that will take you places.
Stay tuned for updates,
Olle
When answering the pnone I use my left ear, so where does that leave me?
I’ve read somewhere that people who answer their phones with their right ear are actually more susceptible to hearing damage.
Interesting.
People who pick up their phones with their left ears are usually left-handed (i.e. me, maybe you too?) Our language lexicon is stored more equally across the two brain halves and it doesn’t matter.
For next time: when you listen to your mp3 and a friend walks by, what speaker do you unplug, the left or the right?
I had no idea about the hearing damage. Cool.
Enjoy your day everyone! Soon holidays!
I pick up my phone with my left ear…because I’m deaf on the right =P
I’d be worried if I could pick up anything with my ear.
That is, physically pick up.
