Fluorescent Adolescent
Wow, the first two weeks of university has flown by in a blur of french, socialising, sushi and softball. So indeed faithful reader(s), I apologise for failing to blog as regularly as I would like. In fact just to make today worse, I had typed up a blog, forgot to save the draft, and then […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/10/fluorescent-adolescent

Late Nights And Creationists
I’m exhausted, and completely over it. I’m -hmm- about 8 days into uni and already I’m over it. As a science kid, I have about 23 contact hours per week, give or take 3 or 6 depending on whether I have practicals. And it takes me about an hour to get into the uni from […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/10/late-nights-and-creationists

First Week Smoosh
Since I can’t make myself finish the reading I should be doing (Rousseau, Locke, Hobbes? Seriously guys, sit down we have to talk), I thought I could at least do my neglected blog post. I don’t know if I can add anything particularly meaningful to the other first week perspectives but bear with me anyway. […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/09/first-week-smoosh

Rampant Ramblings: Accept my apologies.
So, I know that I am being somewhat of a blog whore, stealing precious space from my blogging friends who, let’s not deny it, have far more flair and capture readers’ interests with far more ease than myself. I am, however, as you will discover in the year to come, quite a whorish* person, so […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/07/rampant-ramblings-accept-my-apologies

Fresher flu and other delights
(written on Friday, forgot to actually post this!) –> I was shocked and horrified to hear the sound of my own voice this morning: extremely low, man-like, with the most unattractive cough interrupting all my conversations. Despite my solid 10 hours of sleep last night, I am thoroughly exhausted and feel like I could sleep […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/07/fresher-flu-and-other-delights

Chapter Three: Reality (~jinghan)
It was 7:27pm and I was travelling home on the train after my first day of classes at university feeling like I had suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of reality. The sky was still a bright blue, but the long shadows and my exhausted body reminded me of how late it was. All […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/07/chapter-three-reality-jinghan

Huh, so this is what university's like… (Rinaldho)
OK, well, let me just tell you, coming from an international school which had a total of 300 or so students, this past week has been a massive eye-openner for me. I mean, when I walked into lecture theatres and the people just kept pouring through the doors, that was the time when I realised […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/06/huh-so-this-is-what-universitys-like-rinaldho

And on the third blog, she started uni for realz (Cristina)
I am ABSOLUTELY DETERMINED to make this blog not-long. *insert an hour of doing something else/forgetting I had started this post* Right, on with it. So my uni life started quite well, in the sense that the night before starting, I arranged to meet with my new friend before our first lecture (Introduction to Media […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/06/and-on-the-third-blog-she-started-uni-for-realz-cristina

"Back to school to prove to my dad that I'm not a fool" (Pris)
I feel like a Year 7 all over again! Although, this time there’s a lot less spoon feeding and I’m not sure if I’m thrilled about this new found independence or if I’m still nervous about messing everything up. Whichever one it is, though, I guess it’s sort of fun…like: Navigating my way around the […]blogs.unimelb.edu.au/first-year/2010/03/05/back-to-school-to-prove-to-my-dad-that-im-not-a-fool-pris

From Terrified to Terrific: Share your best and worst bits of the week!
So, this brief post will inform you of my best bit and worst bit of the week. Share your best bits! (NOTE: The term "bits" does not refer to the anatomy of the body) Best: So, I'm loving Uni. It's just awesome. I have completely inspiring lecturers and have adored all my classes so far. Worst: Navigating the University Bookshop (I mean, what's with THAT!?), and still finding they have sold out of half my booklist. So, Mystery Readers, your mission is to enlighten us all of your best and worst bit of the week and, with any luck, hilarity will ensure. Luckily for me, it has.
