Done and dusted and shoved into the back of the cupboard (Silvia)

And thus, second year has come to an end with my last exam being today. I walked into the Royal Exhibition Building feeling like my jumper was too warm for the weather and yet not warm enough to make me feel comfortable and ready to tackle an exam. I was nauseated because I left this, the most difficult subject, till last. Basically, I started studying for it the night before. By studying, I mean scanning the lecture notes for ten minutes, then taking a well-deserved break to read, write and munch for about half an hour. The cycle kept repeating. Scan, read, write, munch. Then waking up at 5:30am to study a little more.

I don’t know if I did well. I finished early, but is that a good sign? Whenever I see others swan out of the Royal Exhibition Building early with smug grins on their faces, I get so envious I could cheerfully choke them. I would fill my head with delusions of how intelligent they must be to finish an exam so early, then I’d convince myself that they couldn’t answer all the questions so they left and all the while, the clock ticked above my head and reminded me I was wasting precious time.

I like to think I did well today and when I explained my ‘The Exam Was Either Easy or I Was Very Bad’ theory to the girl at my local bakery, she seemed to think so too. But she also finished her exam with time to spare so maybe we’re a little biased.

Either way, I’m done. No more textbooks, no more lecture notes and no more stress. I have time to focusing my everything on what’s most important to me right now: NaNoWriMo. We’re halfway through the month and I’m more than halfway at my goal: 31,000 words! Since I have nothing else occupying my time now, I have a feeling I will be able to reach the goal of 50,000 words. But you know what? I think my novel will be longer. Perhaps 80,000 words if I’m a judge of any kind. I sure hope so, I want to get this story published! I think it’s a good story but you know, I could be being just a little bit prejudiced.

Happy rest of the year, everyone!

Silvia

By the way, anyone remember Tess Gerritsen from the last post? Yeah, I went to the library and borrowed three of her books because, uh, yeah, I CAN NOW ;D

  1. Yay, you’re done! So jealous! I always finish early for my easiest subjects, and I always finish early for my hard subjects, so I can’t help you there 😛

    Good luck with NaNoWriMo too!
