Half-Time (Rinaldho)
I would just like to preface this post by saying that I apologise to probably my one, and only reader (If I’m lucky), I haven’t been on task in regards to blogging every week, but things have just been pretty hectic on this side of the keyboard… Also, this post will be quite a mess as I am using this as an excuse to procrastinate from preparing for a presentation due tomorrow: Enjoy!
OK, so now we’re at the end of week 6, and half of our learning period for semester one is now over. When I reflect on where I was 7 weeks ago, I can’t believe how much EVERYTHING has changed… Rather than living at home with no apparent routine or goal/desire to do anything, I am now living in college with exams to study for and assignments to hand in.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I find receiving assignments back a daunting process. I don’t mean the actually handing back of the pieces of paper (that’s simple), but what I mean is the whole psychology of making myself see what mark I was given. Unlike most of the people in my tutes, when assignments come back, I daren’t look at it and stuff it promptly into my bag so that I can have a look at it when I am alone and so I can actually express my real emotion when I get the mark (i.e. if it’s bad: curse to the heavens while that single tear runs down my cheek, and when it’s good: literally jump for joy and freakily smile at every stranger I walk past… This rather than fakely(?) saying “huh, I got so and so mark” with a blank expression).
Now for some random piece of info: I have officially found the best thing to do in between classes! Or to make yourself feel less guilty when ditching a class: I go over to the Rowdy Library and sit in one of the beautiful beanbag chairs they have in the TV room, plug my earphones in (and what you listen to is optional, but the reception in that room is good enough that I can listen to the radio, and if the time is right, I listen to Hamish and Andy, funny guys), and stare at the TV screen as I make up my own words to the movie playing… You should try it some time… And so it you see a guy sitting in a beanbag chair and just moving his lips with a smirk on his face, he’s probably not psychotic, it’s just me. (Feel free to tell everyone what your favourite past-time is at uni, and don’t if you want to keep it a secret)
And btw, I would just like to say kudos to my fellow bloggers for their creativity in their blogs, unfortunately for you reading this, I am not as colourful as those other characters, but thanks for reading anyway, and because you have read my post (which I know can be a nuisance), I shall give you a prize: If you have a Facebook account, you can actually make a shark appear on your FB chat by typing in (^^^), this has been my biggest revelation of the week and have found it necessary to share it with as many people as I could
Have a good week everyone
