Launch & Maria Tamboukou

The formal launch of the Narrative Network took place in April 2018 where we had the pleasure of hosting Professor Maria Tamboukou from the Centre for Narrative Research, University of East London. Maria gave a well-attended keynote talk on ‘Narrative Entanglements: Reflections and Diffractions’.

She drew out the ethical implications of Hannah Arendt’s classic work on narrative and opened new ideas for thinking about narrative research through the frameworks of New Materialism.

After this talk, the network was launched with a reception and speeches from Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences, Professor Karen Farquharson, and Professor Tony Birch, author and academic at Victoria University.
