Upcoming Visualise Your Thesis Workshops

To help you prepare for the Visualise Your Thesis 2018 competition, we have prepared several workshops for all you participants out there. Check out our Researcher@Library event page for more details. While you are there, don’t forget to check out the events for Researcher@Library week too.

Keep it short, sharp and to the point: Working with text

The ability to present your research in a succinct, imaginative and accessible way is a vital skill for any researcher these days. Both within Academia and in the outside world if you can captivate an audience in a matter of minutes, half the battle is won. The ePoster is one such challenge.

This workshop will look at maximising the impact of your text in the very limited space that an ePoster allows. Bring pen and paper or laptop/smart phone for writing exercise purposes.

Date: Tuesday, 7 August 2018 and Monday, 13 August 2018.

Design your ePoster: Make it visual

Communication of your research to broader audiences to facilitate engagement and impact is an important skill for graduate researchers. In this workshop our presenters will explore the elements of effective poster design.

Date: Wednesday, 8 August 2018 and Tuesday, 14 August 2018.

Create your ePoster with PowerPoint

Come along to a workshop on how to use PowerPoint to create an ePoster to showcase your research.
