News and upcoming events for December 2023
Throughout 2023 at the end of each month the Scholarly Development (Research) team will provide a snapshot of relevant scholarly research support news and events for the coming month.
Digital Skills Meet Up – Artificial Intelligence
The next Digital Skills Meet Up (DSMU) will have an Artificial Intelligence theme, with resident AI experts sharing their thoughts on the impact of AI on research at the University of Melbourne. These will include researchers from Melbourne Connect, School of Computing & Information Systems, Melbourne Data Analytics Platform and Centre for AI and Digital Ethics. Come along for an opportunity to discuss and ask any burning questions!

Shut Up and Write Sessions
Need to get some writing done? Head to an in-person or online Shut Up and Write session, running each week and open to all students and staff.
Face-to-face at Parkville campus
Time: 9AM-11AM every Wednesday until 31 December 2023.
Location: University House at the Woodward, Level 10 – Melbourne Law School, 185 Pelham Street Carlton.

New University of Melbourne archives catalogue
The University of Melbourne Archives has a new catalogue, with improved tools for narrowing and filtering search results, full page display of digital items, and the ability to save records as bookmarks for your later use. The Archives contain over 23km of records – you can take a look at their Research Guides to get an idea of some of the subjects the collections cover. Check out the new catalogue here, and share your feedback with the Archives team here.

The University will be closed from 25 December 2023 to 01 January 2024. Below are some resources you can refer to during the holiday to keep improving your research skills:
