The Mighty Boosh

So I went to the Mighty Boosh Festival in Kent with my uni friend Bronwyn who is also in London. Quite obviously, I didn’t actually have to tell you that. She’s going on exchange to Birmingham this semester.

It was quite awesome actually, a really nice sunny day and good music and good comedy. But there was a big saga with getting home. Because it was on a farm in the middle of nowhere the last train left at 11:05 (so we actually missed the last 20 mins of vince and howard, which was a bit sad) so we went to catch the shuttle bus but the last one that left (which we were on, after some pushing and shoving) missed the last train. Instead it drove 30mins to another station on a different line. But when we got there we had missed that last train.

It took a bit of working out but the bus driver managed to get another bus to come pick us up in 15mins, which turned into about an hour. We got on that fine, bus then there was a traffic jam (at 2am on a sunday – who knew) so it was taking forever to get back to London. Then the bus broke down and a girl had to crawl under and fix the exhaust with a shoelace.

We met a nice British couple who were going the same way we were and so followed them and jumped on a night bus with them. The guy also pointed out the smallest street in Britain,  which is only skinnyenough to squeeze one person through.

On the night bus it was argument after fight after very LOUD disagreements and the British couple were like ‘Oh we bet you can’t wait to get off’ but we were like ‘No No, this is the really London, the underbelly, it’s entertainment! We want to see the finale.’

So an eventful night and we didn’t get home til about 3:30 and I had to get up the next day at 6:30 to go on a day tour of Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath. I slept a lot on the bus but the tour was alright. It felt very very rushed though, and I would have liked to have spent about triple the time at each place. But I like to take my time and read absolutely everything, so maybe tours aren’t my thing but great for others.

Went back to the Imperial War Museum 3 times, it was awesome.

Right now I am in a hostel in Berlin and on free wifi – yay! And I am just uploading all my pics from my lap top in case something happens to it. There are so so many! And most of them are nothing photos, but I figure it’s a digital camera so better to be safe than sorry! It’ll take me ages and I also have to do organise what I am going to do for my culture presentation at the conference in Prague, which is only a week away – eek!

All in all, trip is going well. Have been homesick on and off and missing my mum a lot, but everything is so awesome! It’s Europe!

Hoep everyone is enjoying their holidays 🙂
