Payday (Silvia)
“These boots are so steampunk! I gotta get a pair. Woohoo, they’re on sale for… uh, $60? I suppose that’s okay. I’ll wait till next week when The Big Boss pays me.”
“Oh wow, a paperback edition of Matthew Reilly’s new book! It costs $23 and let me check my wallet… oh. I guess I can wait till payday.”
“Oh man, mum forgot to make me lunch! I’ll have to buy a slice of $2 pizza. *Nervously peeks into wallet* Um… skipping one meal won’t hurt. I’ll fill up on water.”
My entire life revolves around payday. I plan my life in two week increments and figure out when and where I can buy cheap but unique clothing, cheap but thrilling books and cheap but yummy food.
I’m a poor uni student, okay? I can’t go out every day and buy Gucci handbags, vintage books or dine in five star restaurants. Maybe when I’m working full time and have the money to blow.
Anyway, I obviously don’t plan well as I always run out of money. I can’t figure where the hell it all goes. Once, I had a fifty dollar note in my wallet and it was all gone by the end of the week. I sat down for half an hour and dredged up every purchase I’d made but in the end, I was $10 short.
And I wanted to buy new socks. 3 pairs for $10.
It’s winter right now and my feet get cold. But I guess I’ll have to wait till next payday 😉
Laters and wish me luck for my upcoming three-in-a-row exams!
