Two weeks ago I finished exams, so now I am writing this from my room in Hong Kong, in the midst of 30-degree heat mitigated by 15-degree air conditioning. And thus ends another semester. For those keeping count, that’s 5 down, 7 to go.
It’s a little bit surreal. Many of my friends from my year level in high school graduated from their respective unis this semester. Everyone who did a three year degree in a northern hemisphere country (which is half my high school) is out of university now. And I still have seven semesters to go. That makes me feel a bit like an eternal student bum.
So, um, other than that update I don’t have much to say. I’ve had a relatively quiet life since my last post.

I can really relate to that – most of the people I went to school with in the Philippines have jobs now whilst here I am, with still 3 semesters to go. Only those who took a 5-yr degree are still in Uni. It’s getting pretty tiring actually to explain to them why I am still in Uni, what with the whole different Aussie educational system blah blah blah
It’s great that you get to escape from cold Melbourne at this time… it’s quite difficult now to even imagine what a 30-degree day feels like. It’s cold even when it’s sunny.
