A bargain from Microsoft and a bit of my personal rambling

<source: www.icanhascheezburger.com>

Microsoft is now selling Office 2007 Ultimate for only $75, which usually retails at about $1,150. The promotion (which will last till 15 May 2008) applies to uni and TAFE students only. Grab your perpetual (lifetime) licence here: www.itsnotcheating.com.au . (Just a side note: the reason why Microsoft is suddenly so generous is partly due to the fact that the competing products are rapidly gaining recognition, notably the free open-source alternative OpenOffice.org suite).

In other notes, second year is definitely different: less contact hours (YAY!) and more interesting subjects.

Physiology is probably the best, even though it is nowhere near easy. Sure the concepts are not very challenging but the applications are not so obvious. I think I’ll have fun this year. Also, I went to my friend’s Anatomy lecture and also fell in love with it. Hence I decided to rock up to his lecture every Wednesday and get the notes from my Anatomy friends for my own study (in a way, it feels good to learn this without being assessed  =]  ).

Physics and Maths are OK but they’re not as exciting as I had hoped. Mathematical sciences have always been my strength, so I guess it’s not too bad.

And BOOKS! Again, EXPENSIVE! The physiology book was worth $150.00 (which was discounted to $135.00 in-store). Thankfully I found my physics books on second-hand which only cost a fraction of the RRPs. Yes, I’m elated!

Have a happy Easter, everyone! Let’s hunt the Easter bunnies and fatten ourselves up with chocolates.  XD

Oh, and go watch “Dr Suess’s Horton hears a Who”. It’s HILARIOUS! HONEST!

Till next time. =D
