I’m in London Still… (Georgie)

Well I’m still here, but not for long! Tomorrow I am going to a Mighty Boosh comedy Festival for the day in Kent and then Sunday I am doing a day tour of Stonehenge, Windsor and Bath.

Then next week I am off to Nottingham, Cambridge and Oxford then back to London for a night before I jet off to Berlin.

Have had a good week, but they are pretty full on days. Lots of walking and a few different stops each day. The weather so far has been good, and it doesn’t get late til 10 at night, so I have made the best of this on a few nights and have gone to Hyde Park which is freakin’ awesome! Ben Harper was playing there the other night so I got to listen to him (over about 5 fences) while I wrote some postcards.

Westminster Abbey was great, I went to Evensong (which is a bunch of singing in the evening, as the title would suggest) and I really liked that. The following day I went back for a tour and while I loved it and spent a couple of hours there it felt much more touristy than the previous night.

The House of Commons was great as was the Globe Theatre, and I’m still debating whether to go back for a Shakespeare play before I leave. But my favourite of all has been the Imperial War Museum, that I only went to by chance because a friend was going. It has a brilliant Holocaust exhibition and the place is massive. I’ve been 3 times so far (it’s free) and am hoping to go back before the end of my trip.

Not much else to report. Travelling has so far been pretty good. And am saving lots of money on food and accommodation as I’m staying with an Auntie.

And London is not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be! I was chatting to another friend that is in london and she said she was only spending £5-6 on food per day – not too shabby.

Off to bed now, enjoy winter all!

PS And I hope someone got the Waifs reference in the title 🙂
